Shakespeare Project

This was my first Graphics Design project this year after switching half way through from Film.

The brief was to design and make a promotional package for a Shakespeare play to be put on at our individual local theatres. Mine GOLDSMITHS UNIVERSITY THEATRE making the target audience primarily students.

We could come up with our own interpretation of the original story.

I identified BOATS, STORMS, & POWER (human - Prospero, and electrical - storm) as 3 central themes/motifs in the play.

flyers which have instructions of how to fold into paper boats on the back... as seen below...
there's a lyric from one of the songs on the CD (below) in the circuit board, as well as information about the production.

Silver is the main colour - spacey and intergallactic

I also made a CD of the soundtrack which includes modern music to appeal to student audience.
I designed and screen printed the CD label and used letterpress to print the track listing, and information about the production (dates/place etc) on the jacket.
I decided to use it for direct mail promotion so i designed a logo for the RSC which is seen on the stamp, and sewed tracing paper to make an envelope.

When you open up the CD jacket there's another small pop up paper boat made of metallic silver paper in the fold.
