Ladies of inspiration
Inspired by dancer Ruth St Denis who put cigarette advert showing a goddess (Isis I think) at the foot of her bed because she was so inspired by her power, and overnight she felt changed by her presence.

fake immersion in a false relaxation
Virtual backdrops to explore all the perspective and sense elivening aspects of via green screen - false experience
For the Cruise Ships project
challenging initial perception and enlivening the senses
For my I Wander Weather (walking) project, I have made a filmic installation (coming soon). The aim of it is to challenge the viewer's initial perceptions of the landscape and to provoke their senses, inviting them to go out into the forest and experience it first hand.
The installation uses both imagery and written language to purposefully present an experience of the natural world that is not a whole experience of it.
I am trying to communicate this aim by translating the experience of the installation into a textual print>>>>>>
I have written a text about it, and stuck it in a book called "A Natural History of The Senses". The original text of the book is obscured, but words from it that provoke an embodied reaction (appeal to the senses) appear at the sides. This represents the ability of my installation to give the viewer an interrupted, unwhole experience of walking through nature.

INFPDFW - the absurdities of the postmodern life - The Cruise Experience

Planning installation with what i've got so far....
The lighthouse lady rotates with a candle (that's obvious), and the plinths with the power pots on have hands on - hands are full of history and wisdom and craft, and show generation links. Paired with the plinths and pots they're also reminiscent of goddess imagery - but reclaims the body of the goddess (usually seen as a sexual or motherly figure) as a proud but humble pedastool of creativity. They also reflect the lighthouse lady (whose hands only will be visible), and the arrangment of the plinths make it more ritualistic, but also provides a generation link (between hands) and generation net (around the centre point of their common situation).
