On The Road

I just started reading 'On The Road' by Jack Kerouac. I was in San Francisco last year and stayed in an area where him and all the beatnik poets lived and worked and partied.

The book is just Jack's account of time he spent travelling from Chicago to Denver to San Fran for no real reason, and he wrote it on one continuous scroll on a typewriter with no paragraphs and barely any punctuation. It's kind of hard to read but it's amazing.

I was reading it on the train the other day and read a page where he's on the back of a farm truck with about 6 other guys (2 hobos, and a few farmers) all just hitching a lift to Denver down route 66. I realised that's what i wanted to be doing right then so i drew this in my sketchbook. looks better in real life, hmm. can't decide if i'm finished with it yet.

Ross

Today is one of my most favouritist people's 18th birthday and because i'm living vicariously through other people out of boredom right now i'm going to make a post in honour of her 18 glorious years of gracing this planet.

Hermione has a hole in her tongue.
She falls over bollards.
She's probably my only friend who actually appreciates angels and airwaves.
She likes beano noises like flump, phweep and gnagga dagga dagga.
She takes vitamins now because she decided to be vegetarian.
She is coming to stay on wednesday and we're going to see Jeff Lewis.
She's like a well top bird.
